As part of our expansion plans, we invite you to consider joining our team and becoming one of our VegDining City Ambassadors!   As an Ambassador, you'll help us keep up-to-date on the "veg scene" for your city/area, by sending us updates and building/enhancing relationships with local businesses and veg groups.

We're looking for City Ambassadors for major cities, with populations of at least 200,000.

Although we've had a worldwide team of VegDining correspondents and freelance writers since our site launch in summer 1999, our City Ambassador program attempts to more formally recognize - and reward - members of our team. As we're in the early stages of a major expansion, our hope is that we can also expand our team to make VegDining bigger and better!

WHAT WOULD I DO AS A VEGDINING CITY AMBASSADOR?

As a VegDining City Ambassador, you'll help us stay connected in your city by:

• Helping us keep our listings up-to-date by regularly (bi-monthly, ideally monthly) letting us know if there are any new veg or veg-friendly restaurants, cafes, food stores, veg groups, etc. or closures in your city
• Occasionally submitting mini-reviews (3 or 4 sentences) of veg businesses that you've recently visited
• Letting us know of any upcoming veg events of interest in your city
• Promoting VegDining in your area and beyond through social media (eg Facebook, blogs, Twitter) and letting us know about promotional opportunities such as advertising in veg group newsletters, events, etc.

WHAT WOULD I GET AS A VEGDINING CITY AMBASSADOR?

We pay our Ambassadors a modest stipend of between $100 and $200 US/year, depending on the frequency and over-all quality of interaction we receive from them. For instance, if you update us once or twice per month you'll receive the larger amount but if you keep in touch less often you'll receive the lesser.

We'll pay you twice per year - $50 US after your first six months and the remainder after the end of your 12-month term.

Freelance writing opportunities also exist for all our Ambassadors, at $35-50 US per article. Typically articles are 300-500 words on recently visited travel destinations or profiles of restaurants participating in our VegDining Card program.

Also, there are revenue-sharing possibilities for you as an Ambassador, payable once or twice/year, including:

• For each VegDining Card or login account that we sell to a customer in your city (regardless if you were directly involved in the order), we'll reward you with 10% of our net on that order (ie after PayPal fees and VegDining Card printing/shipping fees).
• If restaurants in your city sign up to participate in our VegDining Card program, we'll reward you with $5 US - OR $15 US if you personally invited the restaurant to participate.
• If you're interested in helping us also recruit advertising - and we acknowledge few Ambassadors may be interested in this - you'll receive 20% of the advertising revenue you generate.

Finally, there's no committment term on your part. If you're no longer interested in being an Ambassador, just give us some lead time, say a couple of weeks, and we'll be happy to pay up any reimbursements we owe you.
