LENTIL AS ANYTHING

"Lentil as Anything in Footscray is housed in the beautiful old Barkly Hotel, on Barkly street. It was lovingly set up with tealight candles and flowers on the tables on our visit. On Sunday nights they have a buffet where you can eat as much as you want, from a variety of dishes. About half the dishes are vegan.

Tonight they had zucchini pakoras, vegie soup, quiche, dhall with silverbeat, redbean and vegie curry, rice, creamy pasta, baked creamy potato casserole and a green salad. You can see from this example that there is quite a variety. Saturday nights they have live music, for example they had an African Jazz band last time. They often have events and fundraisers and they can also do catering.

The philosophy here is to pay as you feel, there is a donation box on the front counter, and you can also pay by card now as well as cash. A lovely vibe, and great food and variety. "
