HARD TIMES CAFE

"While visting Minneapolis, I stopped by Hard Times Cafe for breakfast. They offer a decent selection of vegan meal options. I chose the vegan rancheros. The tofu based breakfast item consisted of broccoli, onions, mushrooms in a tangy salsa sauce. It was a filling and delicious early morning meal. They also offer some vegan muffins in the display case. The atmosphere is a bit alternative and punk rockish with music playing in the background. Service is quick and staff is helpful too."

"Hard times is my favorite resteraunt, and it pained me that one reviewer said that they didn't like the rudeness of the staff. The food is awesome, inexpensive (and you get a lot for your money), and there are lots of vegan choices. The atmosphere is very "street punk" and the attitude of the staff, the loud music and the graffiti in the bathrooms are part of the charm (in my mind)! Anyone who complains about the staff being rude just doesn't get it. It's the vibe of the whole place - if you don't like it, shut up and go somewhere else! (my example of the attitude - it's great !)"
