CHICAGO DINER

"My son is a serious vegan and has been for several years. In the past, he would make his Tofurky, etc at home and bring it to whichever location was hosting the holiday that year. In spite of my family's teasing, he stuck to his beliefs. I admire him to this day. Therefore, I decided to have Thanksgiving family dinner with my daughter and son at the Chicago Diner after reading about their annual feast. It was the most wonderful meal I have had and I plan to make it an annual family event. The staff was so very friendly and very willing to accommodate us, including taking a picture of myself with my son and daughter. I give this place a great recommendation to everyone. I knew I had to return to sample their regular menu and have done so since then. It is the favorite place and one of many reasons that my son and his girlfriend have in common. Some of the staff know them personally."

"Yum yum, this is a Chicago classic in Boystown with more than just "diner" food: sandwiches, italian, "american", mexican, asian, etc that come defaulted to the vegan diet (though real cheese is available upon request). Many items with seitan, but many are just tofu blends or veggies. You cannot leave without the classic desserts: fruity cheesecake, german chocolate, cookies and cream, "milk shakes", brownies, the list goes on...They also have cool pro-veggie shirts and vegan cookbook for sale."

"The Chicago Diner is simply unbelievable - it has more variety than most non-veggie restaurants and is consistently updating it's offerings and creating new, yummy dishes for customers. I think the fact that I will take a 30-minute bus ride just for their biscuits and gravy brunch is a true testament to this fantastic establishment."
