PRINZ MYSHKIN

"My husband and I were recently in Munich and our dining experience at Prinz Myshkin was definitely a highlight. The restaurant is lovely - decorated in a modern, classy look. This is a great place for a date or a nice (but not too crazy nice) dinner out with friends. The service was excellent. The food was delicious - some of the best we've had out in a while. I especially recommend the potato gratin with truffles. It was seriously amazing. In a city known for wiener schnitzel, it was exciting to go somewhere and be able to order from the entire menu. We made reservations in advance online, which turned out to be a good idea since they were booked."

"If you go to Munich, go to Prinz Mishkin! My husband and I went to Munich with 8 friends back in September 2007; none of them vegetarian. Most restaurants in Munich are all about the meats/sausages. Finally after a few days of surviving on boiled potatoes and pretzels, we broke away from our friends and went to Prinz Mishkin. About a 5 minute walk from the center of oldtown (Marienplatz). (We asked our friends if they wanted to join us, and one of them actually said "what would I eat?!".) So we went on our own.

It was fantastic! We had a mind-blowing tomato-curry soup to start, then a perfectly tender potato gratin followed by a savory tofu stroganoff. It was honestly one of the best vegetarian meals I've ever had. The menu is huge. Lots of ethnic vegetarian and vegan cuisine to choose from. The restaurant was busy, spacious, hip/modern and the staff were very friendly. They even had menus in English and it wasn't too pricey either. We'd go back to Munich just for this restaurant! In fact, I want to go back now!"
